Rev. Shawn Hyska

Pastor

Pastor Shawn Hyska has been the pastor at Westminster Presbyterian Church since September 2022. Shawn and his wife, Sarah, moved to Lynchburg from Philadelphia in 2020 after getting married and feeling that God called them to settle their lives here. In addition to his service to WPC and Haven on Garland, Shawn serves as the director of finance for HumanGood, a senior living nonprofit organization. He was pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Kensington from 2012 to 2019.

Outside of work, Shawn enjoys baseball, bourbon, gardening, and spending time with his family.

Headshot of Alice Renshaw

Alice Renshaw

Secretary

Alice (Renshaw) Boyd joined the staff of Westminster Presbyterian Church in late 2021. She welcomes people who come to the door, answers the phone, prepares the weekly worship bulletin and the monthly newsletter (CHIMES). Alice’s description of her job and environment is unique. “The three most important things for me in working at any job are to be of service, learn something new and to grow personally. This job has been a perfect match. Where else [during my break-time] could I sit in a sanctuary to meditate, listen to an organist practice classical music and discuss gardening with the organist?”
